OMADINO CUSTOMARY TENANTS

Omadino customary tenants are the Ijaws and Urhobos living in Omadino lands in Warri South and Warri South West local government area of Delta State. Omadino people granted the permission for Ijaws and Urhobos to live in thier lands. In 1870's Governor Chanomi first obtained the approval of the Elders of Omadino people to allow one Ofomini and his son, including Akpata and his followers to live in Ubakokodia, Okenrenghigho, Akpata and others. 

However Governor Chanomi moved on, after many years of reign. Asked for and obtained the permission of Omadino people to put his Slaves at Kpokiti (now Agbasa community, which had miss together with the Slaves children to live as one.) to stay. Also Chief Nana of Ebrohimi, asked for and obtained the approval of the Elders of Omadino people to camp his Slavesn in Oterele.(now Agbasa people). The Omadino’s lands that the Ijaws and Urhobos occupies are Ubakokodia, Okenrenghigho, Makavi, Aghigho, Akpata, Uton-nana, Jones Creek, Egwa 1, Egwa 11, Oterele, Kpokiti e.t.c.

EDUCATION

Omadino people are considered to be a highly educated people with a very high rate of 97% literacy rates. It’s have one of the oldest histories of Western education. Each family has large numbers of “university graduates and intellectuals”. This is a structure/awareness created in the 19th century by “Great Prince Omagbemi Paryan” and others of his followers who stand by him to protect the interest of their lands not to be taken by any group of people through judgment.

Its education, literacy and health standard are very high, with a life expectancy of 75-80 years.
