POLYTECHNIC AND COLLEGE OF EDUCATION STUDENTS PROTEST IN LAGOS

The Polytechnic and College of Education Students protest in Lagos. On Wednesday peace protest were carry out by students to appeal to the government of Nigeria to meet the demands of their striking lecturers.

The protesting students gather in front of Yaba tech gate were they took their kick off, at  about 10:00am leaving Yaba for Third mainland bridge. When policemen accosted them around Adekunle bus stop. While others protest students disrupted vehicle movement around Jibowu to Onipanu bus stop on the busy Ikorodu road.
Institution students involved in protest and others are Yaba tech, Federal college of technology, Education Rights Campaign(ERC) and other concerned youths. Protesters carrying placards wrote "we say no to strike" "we want to go back to our classrooms e t c. The students spokeperson from Yaba tech Mr. Joshua Ayokunmi, urgued the government to end the strike to save the future of youths.
What the striking lecturers wants, a full implementation of the consolidated tertiary institution salary structure(CONTISS 15) and to stop the discrimination against HND.
However the federal government of Nigeria had made an offer to play N40b to ASUP and Colleges of Education as CONTISS 15 arrears in two instalments. The government said its would pay first instalment in march 2014 and second instalment in September 2014. ASUP and College of Education Lecturers refused the offer and go on with the strike.
Speaking with Lawmakers and striking lecturers the supervising Minister of Education, Nyeson Wike, said that the Salaries, wages and income Commission was opposed to the payment of arrears owed lecturers.

In Borno State on Friday morning, Boko- Haram kidnapped two first class traditional rulers. Includes- the Emirs of Uba, Ismaila Mamza and the Emir of Gwoza, Idrisa Timta.

A local officials in the area said, that about 10:00am Friday, the Emirs were kidnapped by Gunmen near Shaffa. Both of them were travelling to Gombe to attend the burial ceremony of the Emirs of Gombe, Shehu Abubakar, who died 27th May.

Afghanistan launched the first satellite called Afghan SAT1. Afghanistan Telecommunication companies will provide better quality service to people now, due to the Afghan SAT1 launched. The satellite was launched at 50 degrees East in space.
The minister of communication and information Technology(MCIT), Amirzai Sangeen. Said local channels can broadcast their programs within Afghan with better quality network. He also said that the satellite will also provide the opportunity for country men in remote areas to have access to internet and phone with lower prices. And bring major change in communication. The Afghan SAT1 will also make people to access Afghan channels across the globe.
In the inauguration ceremony on Saturday. Mr. Sangeen called the event historical and explained in details the cost behind the initiative. Afghanistan will pay $4 million annually for Using the Satellite but we will have $15 million income for the services of the Satellite. The Satellite was purchased from a France company known as Esutelsat, which has a total of 36 Satellites orbiting space. Mohammad Younus Qanuni, vice president of Afghanistan. He said this is a great achievement for Afghanistan, this will cover the Radio and TV channels of Afghans, South Asia and the Middle East.

The highway connecting Kabul to Mazar-e-Shharif in the Northern Balkh Province were cover by flood.
The flood is caused as a result of intense rainfall, which hit Tangi Tashqurghan area and part of Khum district of Balkh province. Hundreds of residents have been displaced, seven villages destroyed in one area and five other villages in Khulm district.

Balkh provincial council member, Makhdoon Mahmood said, over 800 houses were damaged and thousands hectors of land flooded. The Chief police officer of Balkh, Abdul Rahman said, families effected by the flood were confused about what they should do.
The flood destruct many homes and livestock was killed, many travelers were not enable to travel.

The acting minister of Justice, Muhammed Yusuf Haleem, introduced a new law, to the House of Representatives on Saturday.
The new law was- the Anti-money laundering and prevention of financing terrorism law. The acting minister of Justice- Afghanistan, said the law was in accordance with international standards, called for quick ratification by parliament.
The council of minister has only go through and finalized parts of the law. The head of central Bank in Afghanistan, said if the law was not passed in full, it would be ineffective.
The Chairman of the Financial and Budget Commission, said that "we will review the law, and once we are satisfied that it is in accordance with international standards, we will ratify it. It is just five weeks- Afghanistan need to ratify the new law.

About 3:20 am today the secretary of State John Kerry. Call President Good luck Jonathan to make the offer to help send a team of experts to Nigeria to find more than 200 abducted school.
The State Department spokeswoman Jenpsaki said. Washington has also offered to set up a co-ordination cell at its embassy in Abuja with US military personnel, law enforcement agencies as well as experts in hostage situations.
In Abuja President Jonathan accepted the offer, the US security personnel will be set to work with the Nigeria counterparts in the search and rescue operation.
